Hollyoaks applying Todorov and Propp!!!

SUMMARY: Lauren tries to make herself heard in front of Newt about the incident that happened and how it was her fault, but however Newt doesn't seem interested in speaking to her or taking any of her calls, Lauren asks Anita to speak to Newt on her behalf instead she sees Anita in Newts arms, this results to a beat up Anita!...

APPLYING PROPP: Propp believed that in every drama/film a character played a certain role...
Hero: Newt becomes the hero as he saved Darren's life after suffering from a panic attack.
Villain: Lauren who beats up Anita
Helper: Anita who tries solving stuff between Newt and Lauren.
False hero: also Lauren who seems innocent but later tries to attack her own mate.

APPLYING TODOROV: At the beginning of the drama everything is back to normal since Darren is bought back home and recovers from his panic attack, later their is some confusion between Lauren and Newt which later the audience becomes aware of. The confusion then turns to a disaster when Lauren then attacks Anita however in this episode we did not see the confusion returning back to some sort of equilibrium, it was left as a cliffhanger!

Storyline :Daniel is rushed to see a bride to be... when she suffers from a asthma attack before her wedding. Jimmie keeps his feelings to himself when he meets a father who is coping hard.

Summary:
last night in Eastenders the main story was about Jordan agreeing to marry Lucas after he proposed to her, but gives her a second thought. On the other hand Danielle finds herself in a disaster which she shares with Ronnie, She tells her shes PREGNANT.

Target audience:
Mainly targeted towards young adults and older adults.

Alternative readings:
Most the characters are represented negative who are involved in a lot of arguments, fooling around, cheating, not fitted in a certain spot. This gives the audience an ideology about what the character is like it makes us see the drama from the producers view point.

In this drama there is the positive and negative side of a individual person, This can be shown by the arguments, break ups, make ups and fall-outs. The Blondie girls in the drama are represented as dumb however the brunettes are classed as more mature, this is a clear example of how representation is used. mostly which is used in a stereotypical way of presenting a person.

Binary opposition
Binary opposition is the opposite of another.. for example in this drama the audience is introduced to the:
good/bad
mature/immature
dumb/clever
gay/straight

This week

I recently watched HOLLYOAKS and BRITANNIA HIGH dramas...
hollyoaks - Louise found out about Mandy sleeping with her boyfriend and later in the drama Mandy said she would help Louise to get back at warren for cheating on them both! as well as Louise is still going on with the wedding which is part of their plan. Whilst Newt realises there is something wrong with him...which this might mean a end to his and Laurens relationship...

BRITANNIA HIGH - this weeks episode was about Claudine taking over Laurens boyfriend which created hard and emotional feelings for Lauren. However Lauren also found out she had MS which could be dangerous to her life. Also the live show auditions took part.
